Ashley E Walters
Ashley E Walters (b. 1993) is a photographer and mixed media artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. She earned her BFA in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2015 and has created large format photographic works on the themes of time, death, and false narratives. Her most recent collage works excavate images from childhood memories, dreams, myths, and divination. These layered, playful works made from photographs and collected stickers are often composed of doorway/ghost shapes, fragments of text, photos of screens, depictions of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz (1939), and flowers. They attempt to render the visual language of an individual psyche into form.
